Perhaps the most prestigious event in curling is the Olympics. Curling was first introduced into the winter Olympics in 1924. In these games Britain won gold, Sweden won silver and the french won bronze. Curling was next seen in the 1932 winter Olympics where a demonstrative tournament was held. In this tournament Canada won 12 out of 16 games against the United States. Curling was finally made an official event at the Olympics in 1998. It has been an Olympic event.

Nik, A very interesting blog so far on the sport of curling! I first heard of this sport while watching the Olympics a few games ago. I thought it was a very odd-looking sport and had no idea what the rules or objectives were. Your blog is very informative and I’ve learned a lot about this sport that is fairly new to me (and to many other Americans I’m sure). Since curling has been made an official event (1998), how has the US faired? What countries have dominated in this sport? Here is a link to the Curling Club (in Wayland) that I was telling you about in class – it sounds like fun! http://www.broomstones.com/
Can't wait to read the rest of your blog when you're finished!
